(just click the link to find out more!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re figuring out what the cause is, it\u2019s good to remember that <strong>environmental allergies<\/strong> share a lot of the same symptoms as food allergies, and are much more common.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bad news? Dogs can have both types of allergy at once, which can throw you off the scent (pun intended) if you\u2019re just looking at food issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-it-a-dog-food-allergy-or-an-intolerance\"><strong>Is it a dog food allergy &#8211; or an intolerance?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Food allergies and intolerances are different but symptoms can overlap, which isn\u2019t great news when you\u2019re in the middle of things like <strong>diarrhea, vomiting, loose stools, and other whiffy digestive issues.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Intolerances are much more common than true allergies &#8211; as symptoms tend to be more digestion-related.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We always say visit your vet. And whilst it\u2019s difficult to diagnose, it\u2019s always best to talk to a professional if you\u2019re worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-exclusion-zone\"><strong>The exclusion zone<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the ways to diagnose a food allergy or intolerance is with an exclusion diet. This means cutting out as many potential triggers as possible, and then reintroducing them one by one.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This helps you spot patterns in what your dog eats and what symptoms develop.
