{"id":5923,"date":"2020-03-31T11:58:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T10:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/?p=5923"},"modified":"2022-03-30T11:53:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-30T10:53:00","slug":"make-your-dog-their-own-easter-egg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/make-your-dog-their-own-easter-egg\/","title":{"rendered":"Make your dog their own Easter egg!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We\u2019re planning a good old-fashioned Easter egg hunt around our homes and gardens this year and wanted to get our pups involved, so we\u2019ve put together this quick and easy recipe for doggy Easter eggs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The smell of you making them will definitely have your dog sniffing out where that delicious scent is coming from and hoping it\u2019s for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make them, you will need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>140g of xylitol-free peanut butter<\/li><li>140g of coconut oil<\/li><li>Optional extras for crunch: Good Dog Treats, apple chunks, carrot pieces<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Equipment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Egg-shaped mould<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tip: you could also use a small ice cube tray<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ready, set, bake!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Add the xylitol-free peanut butter and coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl<\/li><li>Then microwave for 45 seconds or until completely melted<\/li><li>Stir the mixture to get rid of any lumps, then pour it into the egg mould or ice cube tray until nearly full<\/li><li>Add any optional extras into the moulds now as a crunchy surprise for your pooch!<\/li><li>Put the moulds or trays in the fridge for 2 hours or until the eggs have hardened<\/li><li>When your eggs have solidified, take one out and give it to your dog as a treat or make them their own Easter egg hunt!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Untitled-design-1.png\" alt=\"Easter eggs for dogs\" class=\"wp-image-5925\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Untitled-design-1.png 600w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Untitled-design-1-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Untitled-design-1-120x80.png 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our doggy Easter eggs aren\u2019t made with gluten or grain, so are perfect for pups who may have wheat allergies &#8211; don\u2019t forget to check the ingredients of any optional extras if your pup does have allergies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our office dogs have tried and tested them, and they give them a paws up! Don\u2019t forget to give them to your pooch in moderation and reduce their dinner size slightly to keep them happy and healthy.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope your pup enjoys our doggy Easter eggs as much as our office dogs did!
