It\u2019s refreshing, packed with vitamins, and it\u2019s great for keeping hydrated as it has a high water content. And if it couldn\u2019t get any better &#8211; it\u2019s suitable for both us humans and dogs alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So with the hot weather upon us, what better way to cool down than with this recipe for frozen watermelon treats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best thing about them? They\u2019re lapped up by everyone from teens to toddlers &#8211; although you might want to leave out the dog treats when you\u2019re serving them to humans!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Serves<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 8 cubes, depending on the size of your tray<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What you need<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>200g watermelon &#8211; with seeds and rind removed (as these aren\u2019t easily digestible)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few Good Dog Treats&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An ice cube tray, lolly mould to freeze them in<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Recipe: Watermelon Freezies\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DsIvXOLshmA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cut your deseeded watermelon into cubes<\/li><li>Use a food processor, hand blender or the end of a rolling pin to blend the melon until smooth. You could add a little bit of water at this point if you want to make your batch stretch a little further!<\/li><li>Pour the mixture into your mould<\/li><li>Break up the treats into smaller pieces and add to the mix<\/li><li>Pop into the freezer until done<\/li><li>Serve as a refreshing treat on a hot summer\u2019s day!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>As with all treats, we recommend making sure they\u2019re served as part of a balanced diet. Even though watermelon is quite low calorie, it does still contain some sugars so it\u2019s best to keep it as an occasional treat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We think the combination of juicy watermelon and Good Dog Treats, frozen into cubes, is a winner. We loved testing out this recipe, and we hope you will too.
