The nutty peanuts together with sweet banana is a winner &#8211; we\u2019ve recommended mashing the two together before &#8211; but this time, we\u2019re going to take it to the next level by teaming up with<a href=\"https:\/\/meridianfoods.co.uk\/\"> Meridian<\/a> to create a tasty treat everyone can enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banana is a great dog-friendly fruit because it\u2019s packed with vitamins and minerals &#8211; like potassium and vitamin C &#8211; and full of fibre (great for healthy poo). Bananas are high in sugar, so do save them as an occasional treat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s best for your pup to enjoy peanut butter occasionally too, because it does contain fats, even if they are healthy ones. Make sure any peanut butter you choose is <strong>xylitol-free<\/strong>, like Meridian Smooth Peanut Butter. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener found in some nut butters and it\u2019s toxic to dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here is it&#8230; Our recipe with Meridian for peanut butter and banana ice-cream! It\u2019s great stuffed into a Kong, on a LickiMat, or just dished up in a bowl. And like most of our recipes, it\u2019s suitable for dogs <em>and<\/em><strong> <\/strong>humans &#8211; minus the Dental Dailies for humans of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Servings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Makes 3 &#8211; 4 scoops or approx. 16 cube moulds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What you\u2019ll need<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1 peeled banana &#8211; the riper the better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 heaped tablespoons of Meridian Smooth Peanut Butter (xylitol-free)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>200ml of dairy-free milk, like almond, oat or coconut<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>200ml of water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Optional) Dental Dailies &#8211; <em>if you plan on sharing with your dog, we&#8217;d recommend leaving these out<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Peel your banana (no skins please, they\u2019re not easy to digest) and pop into a blender<\/li><li>Add the Meridian Smooth Peanut Butter, dairy-free milk and water<\/li><li>Blend until smooth<\/li><li>Pour the mixture into a freezable container, like a paw mould or ice cube tray<\/li><li>(Optional) Add a small piece of Dental Dailies if you want to make it into an ice lolly<\/li><li>Pop it in the freezer until it\u2019s ready<\/li><li>Portion and serve!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Ice cream recipe\" class=\"wp-image-6254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-819x1024.jpg 819w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-768x960.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-1229x1536.jpg 1229w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-1638x2048.jpg 1638w, https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/icecreamcover-small-scaled.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 819px) 100vw, 819px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This one got a big thumbs up from everyone who tried it &#8211; if you give it a go, we\u2019d love to see.
