Can you sneak your Schnauzer a spud? Are roasties appropriate for your Rottie? Let\u2019s find out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cooked is best<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Good news! Cooked potato is really good for dogs. <a href=\"https:\/\/tails.com\/gb\/range\/our-ingredients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">We use both white and sweet potato in our recipes<\/a> as it&#8217;s a healthy source of carbohydrate &#8211; plus it&#8217;s packed with nutrients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just avoid feeding your dogs things like chips, roast potatoes, or any potato cooked in a lot of oil or fat. Instead, stick to boiled potatoes and jacket potatoes as these are absolutely fine to feed your dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-raw-truth\">The raw truth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, <strong>never feed your dog raw potato<\/strong>. When uncooked, potatoes contain a compound called Solanine and this can be very toxic to your dog.
