It also serves to slow down the greedy pups who like to wolf their food up in one big gulp (no shame here!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to put on a LickiMat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can quite literally put <em>anything<\/em> on a LickiMat (as long as it\u2019s edible, of course) and it\u2019ll be a sure-fire way to make your dog\u2019s tail wag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of our favourite things to use include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wet food<\/li><li>Treats or kibble<\/li><li>Banana<\/li><li>Peanut butter<\/li><li>Sweet potato<\/li><li>Carrots<\/li><li>Dog-friendly fruit like blueberries or blackberries<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LickiMat no-nos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you reach for your favourite spreadable snacks, make sure they\u2019re not on this <a href=\"https:\/\/tails.com\/blog\/2018\/05\/01\/food-harmful-to-dogs\/\">list of foods you should never feed your dog<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, dogs shouldn\u2019t have dairy or anything too high in fat, sugar, or salt, so avoid things like full-fat cream cheese or fatty meat juices and broths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our favourite LickiMat recipes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For a little bit of inspiration, here are some of our favourite snack hacks for your dog\u2019s LickiMat!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Banana milkshake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This gets our vote any day \u2013 whisk a banana with a bit of dairy-free yoghurt and pour over the LickiMat. Pop it in the freezer and let them enjoy once frozen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Watermelon slushie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any dog-friendly fruit works on here, but watermelon is particularly delicious (and hydrating), so it\u2019s a good one to remember when the weather perks up. Simply spread watermelon, top with blueberries or your dog&#8217;s favourite treats and pop in the freezer to firm up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Red pepper cheeto<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grate \u00bd a small apple (peeled and minus the pips, please), add diced red pepper, a bit of grated carrot and a smear of dairy-free yoghurt, and finally add a few kibbles for crunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now add LickiMats to your tails.com delivery too.
