Every tails.com recipe is bespoke, so we’ll create a hypoallergenic blend that works specifically for your dog’s food allergies and intolerances. We take it to a level of detail that other brands just can’t match – and deliver it straight to your door. No more running across town, wasting time trying to find a hypoallergenic dog food your pooch can eat.
We stick to high standards from the start: our food has none of the most common nasties, like added sugar and artificial flavours. Need a hypoallergenic recipe that’s even more precise? You have the option to leave out any of the most common allergens, or hit the ‘hypoallergenic’ button, and we’ll make sure the blend is specially formulated without any of them.
What’s different in a hypoallergenic blend?
Leave out the big five
Beef, eggs, dairy, soya, and wheat: the five most common ingredients associated with allergies and intolerances. Just say the word, and we’ll steer clear of them all.
Easily digestible for sensitive stomachs
Our hypoallergenic recipes include lots of fish, lamb, and chicken – sources of protein that are easy on the stomach, and great for sensitive digestion.
Hydro-what? It sounds complicated, but it’s not: when proteins are hydrolysed, they are split into smaller proteins, making them easier to digest and less likely to trigger an immune response – great for dogs that often get an upset tummy. We use hydrolysed salmon protein in some of our fish kibbles.
The benefits of hypoallergenic dog food
Our hypoallergenic food blends can help your dog with these conditions:
Food intolerances and allergies
Cut out the ingredients most commonly associated with flare-ups.
Itchy skin and dermatitis can be caused by common ingredients like dairy and eggs. Exclude these, and your dog will feel the difference.
Colitis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
Conditions like these can be caused by your dog’s reactions to certain foods: trying a hypoallergenic dog food blend can help.
Hypoallergenic blends are easier to digest – which can really help if your dog has a sensitive stomach.
