Has your dog got a festive name?

Dashing through the snow, Frosty the Snowman…the Holly and the Ivy, Buddy the Elf? Is it starting to sound a bit Christmassy out there? Yes, yes it is.

‘Tis the season to be jolly, so as we’re all putting our dog-friendly Christmas trees up, wearing our very festive Christmas jumpers it got us wondering….how many of you (our lovely tails.com customers) have a dog with a festive name?

We checked with our data team who was on the Nice List. And get ready to feel fully festive, as the results are in!

Joint 5th place – Comet and Dasher

Santa would be proud as in joint 5th place are two of his favourite (in our minds) reindeer: Comet and Dasher.

4th place – Snowy

Walking in a winter wonderland this Christmas are the 69 Snowy’s – we hope you have a (snow)ball!

3rd place – Angel

Can we just have a moment for all the 146 tails.com customers who called their dog Angel? To us, they all belong at the top of the Christmas tree!

2nd place – Holly

Whether it’s after the eponymous Christmas carol, The Holly & the Ivy, or whether it’s just a pretty name we’ll never know, but we’re humming that festive song as we type and celebrating the 637 Holly dogs at tails.com

1st place – Buddy

So we don’t know really if you’ve named your dog Buddy after Will Ferrell’s iconic Christmas film, Buddy the Elf, but as sure as there are candy cane mountains and cotton-headed ninny muggins, a whole 2,037 of you have dogs called Buddy. Santa’s coming!

Let’s hear it for these wonderful tails.com dogs on our festive names list:

  • Frosty
  • Vixen
  • Snowball
  • Tinsel
  • Carol
  • Blitzen
