Green cuisine: booster bones recipe

It’s nearly summer, so with that in mind, we’re bringing you this brilliant veg-packed recipe – perfect for a hot summer’s day!

We’ve made it super-simple with just broccoli, peas, and some low-sodium stock, meaning this is a nutrient-rich (and low-calorie) treat for your dog. We recommend serving it as a tasty afternoon snack, or adding it to their dinner for a real veggie boost.

Servings

12 – 16 treats

What you’ll need

50g broccoli
50g peas
200ml low-sodium beef or chicken stock
Blender or food processor
Freezer-safe mould or ice cube tray

Method

  1. Blitz all the ingredients together until smooth
  2. Pour mixture into your tray
  3. Freeze overnight
  4. Enjoy!

  1. It is a shame that people these days just throw away carcasses. Especially of a chicken. If you own a slow cooker, just bung all sorts of vegetables in with bones and just water. Then you can sort out the bones from the veg (or not) and you have a wonderfull stock. I use this sort of thing all the time. (Worked wonders in the pub.)
