Milkshake Hearts

As the old adage goes, my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard – and that’s exactly what this super sweet Valentine’s recipe is sure to do. Just replace boys with dogs. Or not, it’s entirely up to you!

We’ve combined dairy free milk with strawberries and a little water to create these beautiful little treats, perfect for sharing with your four-legged soulmate.

Strawberries are packed with vitamins and minerals, making them a great low calorie snack for dogs. Just keep in mind they do contain some natural sugars, so feed them in moderation.

Servings

12 – 16 milkshake hearts depending on your mould

What you’ll need

  • 200ml oat or almond milk
  • 6 – 8 strawberries
  • 20ml water
  • A heart-shaped mould or ice cube tray

Method

  1. Blend the strawberries and water until smooth
  2. Pour a little of the strawberry mix into your mould – to about halfway full
  3. Freeze the strawberry mix until firm, then top up with your oat or almond milk
  4. Pop the tray back into the freezer until frozen solid
  5. Serve as a frozen treat!

Dog not keen on strawberries? You can swap them for any dog-friendly fruit – blackberries work well, too.
